I am always happy to share my classroom with parents throughout the year. If you would like to help out in any way, please let me know. At the beginning of the year I will send home a Volunteer Sign Up Sheet with your child. Later, if I need any special help I will send home a note. Below I have listed some jobs that are available throughout the year.

 

Classroom Jobs

Guest Speaker	Please come and speak to our class if you have an interesting job, hobby, or heritage that you would like to share with everyone! The guest speakers are welcome any time and we love to see props that you may have about the specific topic you are talking about.
Guest Reader	The guest readers in our class are always a surprise to the children.  This job is for people who have a couple of minutes here and there and would love to come into the classroom to help out. This job is also great for grandparents, aunts, uncles, or cousins who might come into town.  The guest reader will bring his/her own book or choose a book from our classroom library to read. The students love this surprise and it can happen at any point in the day.  Just give me a call in advance before you are coming. This job really works well for the parents who might not have that much time.
Classroom Helper	This job will help me (the teacher) in everyday activities. You will be helping me with small group projects, copying, putting together projects and papers, recording grades for me, monitoring children in centers, etc. With this job, you can come in as often as you would like or as little as you like.
Party People	We will be having four different types of holiday parties this year.  One of them is our fall party that will happen around Halloween time; one is our Winter party that will happen right before school is let out for Winter Break; one is our Valentine’s Day party that will happen on the closest day to Valentine’s Day; and one is our End of the Year party which will happen the last two days of school. This job is broken into two different sections. The first one is the party planner who organizes the party, talks with parents about bringing in food, and coordinates dates, times, and location with me. The second section is the party helper who comes in during the parties and helps out any way they can during the time of the party.
Field Trip Helper	As a class, we should be going on a couple of field trips the whole year. This person’s responsibility is to be in charge of a small group when we are on this trip.
