Welcome to Room 17 at Santa Rosa
Elementary School. We are so excited to share all of the
exciting things our class has learned in third grade!
The purpose of this website is to show
our family and friends everything we have learned in third
grade. In this website you will find lots of resources
such as our daily schedule, homework assignments, cool
projects we've completed, photos and videos of our learning,
our classroom newsletters, and much more! You can even read
a weekly column from one of us about the latest news in our
classroom.

05/05: We have three weeks left of school. Next
Tuesday and Thursday, we will have our last Galileo
tests. Spelling homework is due next Wednesday.
04/06: AIMS testing is two weeks away. Next week we
will be reviewing all concepts learned this year.
Your child will also bring home a review packet
which is due next Friday!
03/05: Next week is Spring Break! We will have
Student-Led Conferences the week we get back.
02/01: This Friday is Popcorn Friday! Please
remember to bring your money. Also we just began
learning geometric terms. Click here for the

01/03: Welcome back from Winter Break. We will begin
measurement this quarter.
12/08: Winter break will begin next week. Our last
book report is due next Tuesday. Please make sure
you have your report completed.
11/20: Book report due on Tuesday. We will be
sharing in class on Tuesday and Wednesday.
10/07: Fall break is upon us. Enjoy your time off.
Continue to read at home aloud every night.
09/19:
We have three weeks before Fall Break. Please
continue to work hard everyday at completing your
work. Homework has been updated!
08/16: Homework has been
updated. Please check! Also, as per request, the
card shuffler website from our class activity on
making numbers has been added to the
fun websites for kids.
08/01:
Summer is coming to an end and school is just around
the corner. I hope everyone enjoyed their time off
but I am excited to get back to learning. Meet the
Teacher is this Thursday, August 4th. You will be
able to check out the classroom and find where you
are going to sit. It's also a time to get to know
each other a little before school starts. The
following Monday will be the first day of school. If
you are unable to make it Thursday night, here are
some of the forms you will receive:

05/08: School is coming to an end. We have two and
half weeks left until the last day of school.
Upcoming Events
Monday, May 9th: Field Trip to the Science Museum
11/28: I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving
Break! Students did a great job on their Celebration
Projects. Pictures will soon be added to the
website. This Friday is the last day for Ms. Lane.
We will be celebrating her goodbye at the end of the
day. More information will be coming home this week.
11/07: Upcoming Events: We have no school on
Thursday because it's Veteran's Day. Students should
be working on their Celebration Projects which are
due November 22nd.
11/04: Students should be working on their
Celebration Projects at home. If you are unsure of
what the project entails, please click on the

11/02: Make sure you go out and vote yes on the MUSD
override. The money generated helps our school and
your kids achieve more.
10/18: Welcome back from Fall Break! We have two
weeks before our Fall Party and Trunk or Treat.
Report cards will be sent home on Monday.
10/03: This is the last week of the first quarter.
Friday
will be a half-day. Students will
receive their report cards when we return from
break.
09/27: We have two weeks before Fall Break. Keep
practicing your math facts and reading aloud at
home.
08/22: Curriculum Night is this Tuesday from
6:00-6:40. Please make sure you drop by to
experience the "Day in the Life of Your Child". We
will go over the daily schedule, classroom routines
and procedures, and the major curriculum throughout
the year. The class with the most parent
participation will receive a PIZZA PARTY! Hope to
see you there!
07/25: School is just around the corner and I hope
everyone has had a wonderful summer! Meet the
Teacher is this Friday, July 30th from
5:30-7:30. You will be able to check out the
classroom and find where you are going to sit. It's
also a time to get to know each other a little
before school starts. The following Monday will be
the first day of school. If you are unable to make
it Friday night, here are some of the forms you will
receive.

Projects tomorrow. Although we will learn about
Greece in class, the project is an at-home project.

04/18: AIMS testing is complete and we are
approaching the end of the year. However, we still
have a lot of fun activities in front of us.

04/04: We are busy reviewing for AIMS, which is next
Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Below are some links
that will help your child review the concepts
learned this year.
03/26: We have no school next Friday, April 2nd. Our
Celebration Projects are due next Thursday. Students
should be working on them at home.
03/22: Tomorrow at 6 pm. some students will compete
in the school's first Guitar Hero competition. The
teachers will compete on Thursday and Friday. If you
are in the competition, be sure to practice your
guitar skills tonight and tomorrow. Good luck! :)
03/16: Students were just assigned a new project in
Social Studies. Check out more information on the

03/15: Welcome back from Spring Break!! I hope you
had a restful and safe break. We are back in the
swing of things. Tomorrow we have Spring Pictures at
12:20. This Thursday, we have our student of the
month assembly. On Friday, report cards will be
sent home.
02/21: We have two weeks left in the third quarter.
Next week we will have half days on Wednesday,
Thursday, and Friday for student-led conferences.

01/03: Happy New Year!! Our first day back to school

12/13: This is the last week before winter
break! We will be finishing up our story
Raising Dragons and
continue working on our Verb Movie. In math,
we will begin our unit on Measurement.
As part of our unit, we will
be making special gifts for our parents using our
knowledge of measurement.
11/15: I have updated the
math page, which includes a study guide for the
upcoming test on Friday. Please review it on
Thursday to get ready for the test.
I have also updated the
reading page with extra
practice sheets for our new story.
11/14: Check out a new video about the Life
Cycle of a Plant. It was created with Photo Story
and each student will get to create their own videos
in class!!!

10/25: We will be taking our Chapter 2 Science Test on
Tuesday and Chapter 8 Math Test on Wednesday.

10/13: Today we completed a very exciting
science investigation: Worm Work. Check out what we

10/12: Welcome back from Fall Break!
We are back to work and we have a new homework
assignment. Please note the change. We
have a Language Packet
due instead of the spelling packet.
09/28: This is the last week of
the first quarter! Fall break will be next week from
10/05-10/09. We have parent/teacher conferences this
week. You should have your confirmation note that
tells you the time and date we will meet. We
will have half days on Wednesday, Thursday, and
Friday. The Book Fair is open this week. Please come
and support our library by buying some books for
your child to read!

be happening this week! We will be taking the
District Writing
Assessment on Monday. Then we will
take our reading Story
Skills Test on Tuesday. On Tuesday
night, you are invited to
Santa Rosa's Curriculum Night Show Case.
During the show case, you will learn about the
skills and concepts your child will learn this year.
Please come for the food, treats, information, and
fun. On Thursday, we will be taking our
Chapter 2 Math Test.
